ARTS Downtown GTX is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to connecting, collaborating, creating, and fostering commerce within the arts community in Galveston’s Historic Downtown Cultural Arts District from 19th Street to 27th Street and from Broadway to the Bay. Our goal is to see Galveston recognized as one of the top 10 destinations for arts and culture in the U.S.

You’ve watched Galveston transform over the years. You’ve seen the challenges, and you’ve seen the potential.

That potential is becoming reality. ARTS Downtown GTX has grown from a volunteer-led organization into one with professional leadership and a growing team, expanding our ability to support artists, strengthen partnerships, and bring people downtown.

Together, we’ve launched ART Week Galveston, helped create the Old Quarter Songwriter Festival, and introduced the Bayfront Blues & Fine Art Festival. We’ve connected artists to new audiences through ArtWalk, created a mural map that invites locals and visitors to explore downtown, and offered professional development to help creatives build their businesses.

And we’re just getting started. From bringing more live music into our public spaces to supporting opportunities for artists, we’re building a stronger creative economy one that brings people together, supports local businesses, and gives visitors more reasons to experience Galveston’s culture.
